Switch Split screen crashes

What’s happening: The game has already crashed twice before day ten on a new save playing split screen mode docked using my TV as I have played for a year + prior to the 1.6 release today. Switch updated today too, so I figured everything has got to be about as good as it gets. The weird thing to me is 1.5 didn’t start crashing until we were in deep near end of year two and we were encountering the prehistoric floors and those cute lil green firebreathers tend to wreck anyone playing on Switch in this way. However, we’re crashing on like level 6 in the mines and glitching hard just walking around town and fishing is pretty dicey too. I was hoping for a better UX with this update but it seems the opposite so far.

Also having split screen mode on Switch crashing to black screen text.

We are able to run around our 4 corners farm no problem, but when we entered floor 2 of the Volcano on Ginger Island it crashed. Seems like we can’t be in the same dungeon/floor without the game crashing.

We are having the same issue on a new game. It seems to have that jerky lag a lot more often. And it seems if we go about 4 days it is likely to crash. I was in the dungeon around level 30 and my partner was running around the farm and it crashed. One time I was in bed and he was watering plants in the garden and it crashed.

This is on the new update that came out today, brand new Farm, split screen on switch.

I have the same issue, we were playing in the skull cavern and at about floor 6 the game crashed. We tried multiple times but it keeps crashing.

Having the same issues with switch local coop. For now am avoiding doing anything in the mines, still crashing occasionally but if we are not doing anything too intense it is going OK. Fishing is also annoying unless you are both fishing, if one person is doing stuff on the farm and opening /closing chests for example it gets very laggy and freezes.

I'm experiencing the same. We found anytime we used a bomb in the mines it crashed after playing the same day 4 times around mine level 30-40. Also saw lots of lag and some crashes doing other things.

I have experienced crashes very similar to the above in switch local co-op. The common trigger seems to be placing a bomb (standard), but from what I've experienced, it's not been directly related to the mines. I can easily reproduce the crash if I go to Ginger Island, and place a bomb in the 'fossil area' to the west of the archaeologist's hut (just south of the mushroom cave). I've also been able to reproduce the issue if I use a bomb near the path to the bookseller above the Joja mart (to quickly clear debris).

However, I *have* been able to place bombs in the quarry without issues - the crashes only appear to happen in certain areas when a bomb is placed.

We are having the same issue. There have been multiple threads started about this, hopefully they are working on a patch. It is such a shame, really want to play this update but scared of losing progress every hour or so due to random crashes.
