On the hilltop farm I caught a dinosaur egg so I don't think it's particularly bad at all.
Some suggestion about the hilltop farm

Hilly land is notoriously difficult to homestead on. Perhaps the Hilltop farm reflects this on purpose? If not, perhaps the developers will try to improve it. I definitely pity “them there people livin’ up in the hills.”
And I agree the the Four Corners farm is the best similar alternative. It also comes with some of the best default furniture.
