Make a tv as small as the calendar and similarly placeable on the wall.
I don’t have one in my real house, and don’t like a room centered around one, especially because of the big black screen. However, I do use smaller devices when I want recipe and weather information.

Ooo! And a fun idea if you marry Sam is he looks up the Weather/Daily Luck for you on his phone if you interact again after his regular dialog. Seb could do the same, saying he looked it up for you online before you woke up, or Maru makes a portable gadget that tells her this. Just another benefit of marrying a particular person. This would work for Krobus too as he needs to know when it's darkest/rainiest/lucky out for when he sneaks around the town.
