Slowing Down the Clock/Combat

I love this game and everything in it, but when I tried to get my mom to play the game, she got frustrated and even anxious playing, which is not ideal. She loves games like this, with progression, a laid back atmosphere, and customization(if you can decorate a house she's in), but two things soured the experience for her, those things are the clock, and the combat.

I'm not suggesting to remove either of those two things, but maybe to have a more casual option that would enable more people to play this game. My mom has never been very comfortable with game controls, and doesn't like making snap decisions in games, and when she's under time pressure she tends to screw up her inputs making things worse for herself.

The clock was a source of stress for her, she felt like she never had time to get things done, usually going to bed late at night with a fullish stamina bar only having done one or two things. An option to pause time, or even slow it down allow her feel less stressed, and able to do her necessary daily tasks(watering, tending to animals, ect) and still go and do what she wants.

The other feature she has trouble with is combat. Apart from the fact that she isn't as big of a fan of it conceptually, she just had trouble reacting when a monster is heading her way, struggling to select her weapon and hit her foe. I understand that combat is not required per say, but without going into the mines it is very hard to get enough metal to do what you want, especially since the quarry realistically can't be opened until Winter. I'm not saying make an option to remove combat(that would be very difficult, what with quests requiring you to kill monsters and monster drops required for crafting), but an easy mode where enemies do less damage, and have less health would make things easier for players who don't have any background in reflex based gaming.

I doubt my mother is unique in these issues. Plenty of people, often of the older demographic, have little game literacy, and only play casual(often mobile) games, and I think having features to ease up on some of the elements someone might find stressful could allow more people to play the game. It may even be a form of accessibility feature, allow some who cannot do quick control inputs due to disability to be able to play the game.

Anyways, I thank anyone for reading this, and I hope as many people as possible can play this great game.
