Skull Cavern Treasure room mechanic.

So while I was Going on a Iridium Grind run in the skull caverns I stamped upon something very interesting. So I Found 5 treasure Rooms in a row , Like Using The staircase in the Treasure room immediately Made me go to Anthor Treasure room. And If every level has only 1% percent of being A treasure Room , What's the chance of finding 5 in a row. That's an interesting question I wanted to ask because I'm bad at Propalities and I require some help to know the chance. thank you for reading.

I don't know anything about how the mechanic works, but if it's truly random and a flat 1% chance that the floor you enter is a treasure room, then if you're already on a treasure floor, the probability that the next four floors after that are also treasure floors is 1 in 100 million

If you're just on a random skull cavern floor, the probability that the next five are treasure floors is 1 in 10 billion

Luck heavily affects the probability for more rooms, basically every 'point' of luck being another 1% chance to encounter a treasure room on an applicable floor, so the chance is drastically reduced if you were diving with luck buffs/high daily luck (also affects the chance to encounter a treasure room).

Still quite a rare occurrences but much more probable

See, this is the kind of thing I know nothing about and don't check the wiki for when I'm playing

So if I've understood you and the wiki correctly, a +3 Luck buff from a Lucky Lunch on a max luck day would make it 5%, making those chances 625x and 3,125x greater respectively, or 1 in 160,000 and 1 in 3.2 million respectively.

And presumably improved even further if you have the special lucky charm

Yes that is correct, and yep the chance would go to 5.25% with the lucky charm as it gives +0.025 daily luck (daily luck operates on -0.1 -> 0.1 instead of single digit values like buff luck, but is adjusted to give a 'point for point' similar increase for treasure rooms (though often works differently for other things like panning where daily luck is much more influential))

CA must be a big math lover to add the daily luck and all of its seemingly endless ways of changing most every aspect of the game. It makes my head spin just watching others calculate all of the possibilities alone let alone adding the food buff factors for each individual aspect of those possibilities they apply to. 😬

Well, from a programming perspective, you just set a couple variables in some equations. The computer does all the calculations for you. You really only need to manually calculate the odds if you are minmaxing something. I sometimes check what qualifies as "a good/better chance" and make note of it, but I don't let the half percent here or there dictate my game play.
