revert portraits?

i downloaded a mod to change the portraits, but i miss the old portraits. i deleted the mod folders, but im pretty sure it replaced some xnb files. is there any way to get the old portraits back without verifying in steam? i would do that but i saw somewhere that it replaces mods, and i just have a lot installed im not sure if i would be able to find and download them all again lol.

Verifying your game's files on Steam will removing any XNB mods you have installed, so it will resolve your issue, but will also replace any other XNB mods. It may be possible to directly swap out portrait files for the original versions in the game, but I am not sure what the process for that would be.

Just run the normal stardew valley it will work without mods or portraits

For anyone else who was wondering about this, you could also look up 'stardew valley npc portraits' and find a link that has all the xnb files, download them, and replace the mod portraits with those files
Or another idea for verifying the files is either selecting the 'mods' folder, then copying and pasting it into your device's files, or doing that but with all the files inside the mod folder (in which case you'd do ctrl a before copy and paste which would select all the files), then verifying the files, and pasting them back into the mods folder once you reinstall smapi, that way you can keep your mod files safe while it's doing its thing :3
