Question About Online Hours

Hey! I just wanted to ask a question about Steam time versus in-game time. Why is there such a discrepancy for me between the time in-game that Steam lists versus the time in the LOAD menu? Which is probably more accurate? I just want to start tracking how much time I spend in-game so I don't go overboard.

Steam counts everything from pause times to loading the game which is the same as GOG I believe where the ig counter is only play time once loaded not including pause time, so only pure play time.
It's not too insane but the numbers will have way bigger gaps if you leavve hte tab open much.
