Question about dinosaur eggs

Back when I first started playing Stardew Valley, I remember seeing a lot of things online saying that dinosaur eggs were extremely rare, but on my current farm I fished up at least 3 during my first spring, and my dog has given me 2.
So my question is, did the chances of getting a dinosaur egg increase with one of the more recent updates, and I just missed it?

You just had a lot of luck with the RNG. Sometimes you find several, other times you'd better go look for prehistoric floors in the Skull Cavern. I'm experiencing the latter case.

Just like the save I had where I had 3 meteor strikes before I could upgrade my pickaxe to gold, and I'm pretty good at reaching floor 80+ before Summer begins.

I managed to find one from the soil. I sent it to the Museum because I didn't have the coop with me at the time.

Man, I must be extra extra lucky, then. I had a similar experience on a couple other farms, so I thought for sure something must've changed. That's too bad people are still having trouble finding eggs :/

I didn't have a coop yet either when I found my first one. I just hoarded it since I didn't know when I'd find another. Little did I know...
