predicting villager mail gifts

Does anyone know how to predict/manipulate rng to get mail gifts from certain villagers without endlessly rerolling a day? I'm trying to do an early ginger island run and I don't want to get to the Skull Caverns before the Desert Festival, so I'm trying to see if it's possible to get consistent batteries from Pam gifts.

It's an utter pain to manipulate mail from specific villagers, but if all you're asking is to change the item in the mail item from a villager whose already sent a mail (So for a Pam mail to be a battery instead of beer) your only option is resetting the day, as mail content is randomly chosen upon opening it, and thus is impossible to manipulate beyond just resetting.

By early ginger island they probably mean pre summer, and it can't storm in year 1 spring unfortunately, so you're forced to rely on either traveling cart, mail gifts, iridium bat drops
