Potato Steve always believed he is desten for greatness. CEO of Joja, ZuZu City Mayor, vanquisher of the Gotoro Empire... yet even with 140 years of experience as a Cobol junior developer at Joja, no one wanted to see his greatness... And then an opportunity arrived - the Grasshole farm, the path to endless fortune passed down by his grandpa. Can Potato Steve achieve his goals and manage a multi-acre farm?
The man, the myth, the legend!
It's a farm, from a certain point of view... what a grasshole...
Now that's more like it...
Fall and winter forage bundles done in spring :) Seed 429904259 has a lot of cool things in the traveling cart...
This uses the Micro Farm: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/28865?tab=posts - which IMHO is the best design for a micro farm. It's not too big, it has a lot of limitations, but you still can fit all the core buildings, or even try and design it differently than on the mod page ;)
With micro farms, there won't be much crop space, so alternatives have to be used (outside of rushing Ginger Island).
* Trapper/Luremaster can actually be usefull and you can spam the river, ocean, and wherever with cheaper crab pots. It will take time to manage them, but it's a stable profit, lots of sashimi...
* Mushroom logs can be placed outside the farm, making a stable income from the quarry and/or desert, train station.
* Hops are really, really good for farming experience when you can't grow more standard crops in bigger quantities. Also, stashing hops to then process them in kegs can be a really good money maker for Y1.
* Bee Houses outside of Ginger Island aren't the best for money, but here you can spam some on the edges of the farm and start collecting some decent income.
* Grass won't spread on non-tileable tiles, so you may rely on hay for animal feeding. Void chicken is the best as mood/happiness does not affect void majo...
* Sheds with mass crystalariums will work really well, but that's a late-game setup after you farm lots of iridium (and battery packs). Same with garden pots, pineapple or hops into kegs.
* Legend fish pond would be a classic money maker, but taking a lot of space - temporary solution? (unless you use the Fish Pondering mod that can shrink ponds down to even 1x1 tile ;) so it's up to you)
For this or similar micro farms, you want to set up and scale some money makers so you aren't forced to constantly fish to get gold for tools and buildings. Then you can focus on mining, foraging, and whatnot, like trying to get sheep or pigs to print money.
