Pot of Gold curiosity

So I knew that the pot of gold gave us some money and that in the first interaction it also gave us the Leprechaun Hat. What I was surprised to see was that the gold value increases by 25g each year and that it caps at 2500g at year 92 (the wiki says 93 but I assume that it means that year 92 was 2500 and that year 93 is the same otherwise the math does not add up). So firstly who is going to wait for year 92 to collect that generous bounty . Secondly in bothers me tremendously that it ends in a random year instead of a round 100.

Any way just thought I would share this discovery I made while going through the wiki.

I feel like it should be exponential, not linear, because by year 92 you probably make so much money that its not worth it to go out of your way to get 2500g, also yes, it needs to end at year 100

First of all I didn't know Leprechaun inflation was that bad but after a rocky start at 12.5% YOY and they slowly get it under control with sensible fiscal policy and after a mere 0.92 'chaun generations (they're long-lived and, as copious consumers of the liquid spirits, even longer-livered), they get it down to 1%. That's pretty good!

200g your first year is a nice gift as you're barely halfway through your first Spring but even 225g the second year is probably not worth the effort for most farmers and certainly 250g that third year is trifling. A single Cauliflower beats that, OK 2 Caulis considering the seed price.

Hat so after the first year you're DONE.

Assuming you remember to check the first year and get free g which should be a holy sacrament for The Lazy Farmer™, yet which Farmer Bobbi has still failed to accomplish.

It's important to always leave an easy way to better yourself.

Didn't know this too, I either get it in the first year or forget about it altogether. Agreed with the above - in the first spring its a nice bonus, then its practically nothing, but if I ever have a save that old, sure I'll grab my 2500 gold, why not.

For the compulsive collectors amongst us, I’ve discovered in one of my games that you also get the hat every year. So, if you want a stack of them, you ‘just’ need to play for at least 999 in-game years
