“This comes from our interview with the game's creator, Eric Barone (ConcernedApe) in celebration of Stardew Valley's 10th anniversary. When we asked him for updates on 1.7, Barone said the following:

“I'm trying to not reveal too much because I like for it to be a surprise. What I will say without maybe being too specific is that with this update, one of the things we're trying to do is... Well, there is a popular fan request, which has to do with the children, trying to make the children a little more interesting. So I'm trying to do something with that, but there's a lot of other things in the update as well that no one's really asked for, but I think people will appreciate it.” ”

I think Sandy is a given, since we don't really have any other single female characters. (Bring back the bouncer guy to run the shop so she can move to the valley with your farmer. And maybe on her birthday she and Emily will still visit the desert as now it's their fondly remembered tradition, not the only time of year they see each other.) As much as I want Dwarf as the other option, I suspect Clint. We have Clint, Willy, and Rasmodius, and I get the impression that Willy and the wizard are considered "too old" to be candidates. I'd rather Willy over Clint, but it would be a good opportunity to revisit Clint's cutscenes that don't work very well if you are already married to Emily.

Wait, I know which two I really want to stump for: Dwarf and Volcano Dwarf.
