Day 6 Legend and level 10 fishing on day 5. This is probably one of the better fishing runs I've ever done in year one of spring. On a random seed and no bubble spots were utilized.

My mortal enemy a pro angler! I hate fishing and I also suck at it so this is very impressive dude. Any tips for how you catch fish?
Mainly knowing how to control the bar as I need to do alot of perfect catches to help gain with xp as they are VERY essential to this run, going to certain spots in different locations and changing tackle depending on the time of day. As for perfect catches themselves I find it hard to explain it but I'll try my best as the situations vary. (I will need to segment each of these to points)
  • When you're at levels 0-1 try to keep the fish at the middle of the bar as it is quite small. For that stage do slightly delayed taps to keep the fish in the bar as much as possible. Levels 2-4 are a bit alright but still keep the fish at the middle of the bar.
  • When dealing with darters (anchovies, herring, sardines) try to keep them at the middle of the bar as their pattern is a bit erratic.
  • For mixed (largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, catfish) I would just put the fish near the top of the bar. Like have some head space on the top of the fish as accelerating upwards is better than dropping the bar.
  • For sinkers (flounders, halibut) when they're dropping towards the bottom of the minigame and when you drop your bar, try to do like a few taps so that the bar does not bounce. (don't hold or else you may lose some acceleration downward and potentially a perfect catch)
  • Smooth (bullheads and eels) is the easiest pattern and quite straight forward as they tend to have a predictable movement upward (first move when starting the minigame). Same strategy as mixed.
  • Fish with higher difficulty ratings (catfish and eels) give more xp. When you're dealing with them just be prepared to move the bar earlier(either accelerate upward or drop the bar) as they can move quite fast.
  • Try to remain calm when doing the minigame as panicking during the minigame may cause more problems

I suck with fishes that just go up and then immediately down to the bottom lol. Thanks for the tips! I might just pick my fishing rod and go fishing for the Fall!

That's really impressive! Congratulations on such a successful run. I had one farmer who was dedicated to fishing and also got Legend on early Spring 1, but not that soon.
