I know this is probably a weird, obscure suggestion and simultaneously probably one you've heard before. I also cannot think of a way to flag this as an issue without sounding weird. I apologize in advance. Please just hear me out.
If the farmer gets low enough affection with Abigail, she says Sebastian was probably the one. Ouch, but the player shouldn't neglect their spouse. I get it. This still shows that she never lets go of him when she gets married though.
Sometimes when Abigail goes to town, she just goes to Sebastians room and hangs out with him while he's coding. If the farmer has low affection with Sebastian, they're locked out of the room while their wife is alone with Sebastian. This is completely healthy and a non-problem. The farmer's spouse should absolutely hang out with friends and for Abigail, Sam and Sebastian make the most sense for her to hang out with.
When Abigail goes to the clinic for her annual checkup though, she says:
“I'm just here for my annual check-up! Don't worry, I'm not preg... I mean, I'm not sick! Heh.”
My farmer is a girl. As much as I'd love to have canon trans farmers, if my farmer marries Abigail and they have a kid, it's via adoption -- there is no way to canonically have a female farmer who can risk getting Abigail pregnant. So who is Abigail insisting did not get her pregnant?
I think a dialogue tweak to change what she says in the clinic if she's married or in a relationship would pretty much solve this. It still kinda rubs me the wrong way that my farmer gets locked out of a room with their wife and her old boyfriend, but I understand that would probably be a lot to ask of in addition to everything the devs are doing working on updates + haunted chocolatier.
Unrelated: thank you so much for all of your hard work on this game. I hate coming here just to complain. I always marry Abigail because I focus on mining for sprinkler materials year 1 and this has bothered me for literal years. I just want my escapism into pelican town to not include a wife cheating on my farmer. I know it's a shortcoming of the way the game was made and it shouldn't bother me, but it kinda does. I feel bad for my farmer, but I don't want my farmer to have to divorce her wife.
