Android Placement guidelines aren't quite accurate?

I'm not sure this is even really a bug, and it may or may not be limited to mobile (I've only ever played on an Android tablet so have no basis for comparison). I've identified at least two things that I had to see in pictures of other people's farms to tell that they were possible, because the "valid" green squares that usually show up to illustrate where you can or cannot put something aren't quite right:
  1. Putting a candle on top of a hardwood fence post
  2. Putting fencing on top of crafted flooring
In these screenshots you can see that in both cases since the square in question is already occupied by something, it doesn't show up as green even though placing the item you are holding there works perfectly well.

Is this a mobile issue or do the PC and/or console versions do this too? And what else am I not doing even though I could?

If I remember correctly, the green squares themselves are only on mobile, and the other versions have no placement indicator.

they are also off for placing crab pots. The pots look as if they’re away a square further, which can make them hard to fill.

Hmmm, ok it's a mobile thing then. Although I guess if the green squares aren't there at all on the other systems I guess folks would have to discover these things by trying them anyway just like here. I wonder if somebody's ever done an exhaustive study of what things you can or can't put on top of each other haha 😅
