What is the church in the groceries for ?
What am I suppose to load on the alter?
61 years I still can't figure it out.
61 years game wise, help what am I missing?

Nothing special imho... Some villagers go there at sunday to praise Yoba and if you place a haunted Mannequin in the room over night, it's not haunted anymore the next day.

Local Legend
The shrine/church room to Yoba (a religious figure/god in stardew) has no mechanical use in game, it's merely exists to serve as some additional lore (one of the books goes into a story about the 'creation of the stardew world' and Yoba's role in that).

I wish if the player could pray for like a luck buff.

As far as believing in Yoba goes, Emily will also beseech Yoba for protection from the "negative energy" of the scary movies in the Fall if you take her, though she never goes to the actual shrine as far as I know. The only shrine visitors I've observed are George and Jodi (and later Kent).

I was curious about the shrine room after Andy said to me in the store "you don't pray to Yoba do you?" or something like that, so I went in with him and George and a few others one Sunday and had a seat with them in there. Afterwards I saw Caroline and Abigail in Caroline's room and she said they were hiding out in there so that they didn't have to make small talk with people coming to worship Yoba
