Switch NS2 Stardew Valley keeps crashing when I sleep/save at night. Any fix?

I’m playing Stardew Valley on NS2, version 1.6.15.13, and the game keeps crashing when I go to sleep and it tries to save.



Error message:
“The software was closed because an error occurred.”

I’m in Year 2 Summer.
Summer 17 crashed 3 times in a row. I tried restarting, checking for corrupted data, and redownloading the game. Nothing worked. The only way I got past that day was by doing almost nothing — I just gave Sam a birthday gift and went straight to bed.

Then on Summer 18 I played normally again:

• harvested about 500 starfruit
• sold 250 starfruit wine to Pierre
• bought 1000 starfruit seeds in the desert
• turned ancient fruit into seeds
• planted 500+ starfruit seed

Then it crashed again when I slept.
So I’m wondering if this is:

• a Switch / NS2 version issue
• or some kind of crash caused by doing too much in one day before saving

Single-player only, no multiplayer, no time changes, no weird setup.

I also tried changing the language to English, which seemed to help for a while, but then it crashed again on Summer 28.


Has anyone else had this happen? Any workaround?
