Non-Binary Farmer

Hello! Not sure if this was mentioned before but here goes

As a NB person, I have this conflict whenever I start a new save and have to pick the gender of my farmer. This might just be a 'me' problem but it would be awesome if there were other options for the farmer's gender. In my head that looks like some kind of ambiguous category (not using binary pronouns in dialogue, etc.) I feel this enables more people to see themselves represented in Stardew Valley.

Thanks for reading :)

This has been suggested before, and quite a lot, so you're not alone at all. You can search even with this title as keywords to see other threads on that and what's been said.
Generally, there will be some translation difficulties with all the languages, but with how requested it is, hopefully it will get added at some point.

It's just a game, there is no point in being insecure about your gender
or I guess if you want to you can mod the game, unless you're on mobile or something

I prefer games with pronoun options. There's this game on switch and steam (possibly other places too) that uses that method. It offers she/her, he/him, she/they, he/they, they/them and any or no pronouns. It doesn't have it/it's or the other fancier ones but it's a start. The game is called witchy life story, (you play as and 18 year old witch who doesn't like rules, you have to help out with a festival, make potions, charms and candles (there are romance options too, you can ask three (not a lot unfortunately) batchlor/batchlorettes to the festival) unfortunately, you can finish it in about two sittings, it's a short game, but I would recommend it. It's cozy and fun!

Unfortunately, it's something that I place a lot of value in. I have looked for mods but had no luck. While you might not think of having broader gender options as important doesn't mean its not important to somebody else. Just because you don't see the value in it doesn't mean something's unnecessary or unwanted. This is especially important because my "actual gender" is non-binary.
