Android No sound?

Hey there 🙂 I've been playing the v1.6.15.1 build 26076 on my Chromebook for about two years without an issue. I've had the computer for about five years and it's starting to have issues from being both cheap and old (overheating, battery not lasting like it used to, etc, but I've never had any issues with stardew before today). It's a touch screen so I just use that, and sometimes a wireless mouse for the fishing, as I find it easier that way. As of today, trying to play, there's no sound in the game at all. No mods, and I've never once tried to touch the code on any save file, so it's completely unedited vanilla gameplay.
I've tried:
  • Force stop and reload the game (over a dozen times)
  • Restart my Chromebook (five times; both "restart" and just shut down and turn back on)
  • Tried wifi on and off
  • Tried Bluetooth on and off
  • Tried with headphones and without
  • Check in game volume settings
  • Check volume of the computer
  • Tried with do not disturb on and off
  • Checked that sound works in other games/apps (it does)
  • Check that the sound works on my saves on my phone instead of laptop (it does)
  • Check to see if all my saves on my laptop are silent or just one (it was all of them)
  • The Chromebook doesn't have a physical silent switch
  • I even gave up and uninstalled/reinstalled the app, sacrificing 505 hours of playtime across seven saves to try to fix the sound issue
With everything I've tried, there's still absolutely zero sound, even with everything turned up to 100 in game and in settings. Am I missing something horribly obvious, and it's an easy fix? At this point I'd prefer that to just not having sound, as embarrassed as I'd be...

Same problem here on my older Chromebook. I had just started a new game so I did uninstall and then reinstall. It made no difference. When I was trying to figure out the lack of sound I noticed some of the characters in the game were not where they were supposed to be or just frozen in a spot.

I haven't had that happen at all. Just the lack of sound; everything else is exactly as it's supposed to be

Hey all, thanks for the report!

We believe this had to do with some changes we made to fit some new requirements on Google Play, and have released 1.6.15.2 which we hope fixes the issue. When you get the chance, please download the newest update (you can tap the question mark [?] on the main menu to verify if you're on 1.6.15.2), and let me know whether you have sound now.

Thanks for your patience!

On the mobile versions I've noticed the silence button will completely turn off all audio when toggelled, is there some analogue for this on your chromebook?
No, there's not 🙁 I had checked that too through extensive googling trying to figure it out. I appreciate the suggestion though!
