PC No invite code using Lenovo laptop

Can you get an invite code on a Lenovo laptop to play with someone on a pc? I’ve been trying to play with my bf but the only tab available under multiplayer is local co-op. I’ve restarted multiple times and launched from steam. Is this because I’m using a Lenovo? I know it’s not the best for gaming

Have you built a cabin on the farm? You need to click the Co-Op button on the main menu and then select Host and choose your farm.
