I am using my iPad … iOS is it going to be a problem for me so far the game is absolutely 100% useless! I don’t know what I’m doing here. I cannot play a single thing everything I try to click on does not work and it just seems like all I can do is chop down bushes and clear stones away anything other than that I absolutely can’t. Do they tell you to pay money upfront or even though it’s not that much but then you can’t even play it is this some kind of scam. I am getting so frustrated and I am ready to report them. What is happening?

When you make a farm, right after clicking "new", before you even get to choose your appearance there's an option to enable tutorial hints. They teach you how to plant seeds - select the hoe, click on a tile of soil, select a seed packed, click on the hoed spot, select the watering can and do the same thing. They also explain most tabs in your inventory.
There is forage on the ground, usually outside the farm, in spring it looks like this:

, you can pick it up by walking up to it and clicking on it.
If you do the same thing to an NPC, you'll talk to them. If in that moment you have an item selected, you gift it and they react. The reaction varies based on the specific NPC and the item, but you will lose it regardless of that. Giving them the items they like is how you make friends.
If there's a white bubble above the mailbox, you can interact with it to read mail. To the right there's a box - its the shipping bin, anything you put there will be sold overnight and you automatically get the gold. Wouldn't recommend putting resourses like fiber, stone or sap there, try crafting a chest (inventory => crafting tab, the tutorial hints will explan it when you open it) and storing them there.
you can’t even play it is this some kind of scam
Nope, it is very playable and enjoyable once you figure out the mechanics. I think I covered most of the basic stuff, there's more, but I don't want to make this too long + how'd you remember a 3 page guide all at once. Ask here if you still can't do something.
Edit: remembered another thing - if you hold down on an item in your inventory, a description of it will show. If it says how much energy/health you can get from it, its edible. Tap on your character while holding it and confirm that you want to eat it.

Stardew is an okey game and there used to be much less hand holding than in newer games.

Try the “getting started” section on the wiki and go from there: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Getting_Started

Mobile controls default to tap to move, but you can switch to virtual buttons or attach a controller.

The quests you get (tap on the ! button under the date) are a kind of tutorial that lead you through the game mechanisms.

There’s a packet on the floor of your cabin. Tap on it to get some seeds (or hay if you picked Meadowlands farm). Select the hoe in your inventory to till the ground and plant them.

Leave the farm to your right to walk into town.

My tutorial says nothing it’s no help at all. I have managed to figure out how to get to my farm and start cleaning it off. It was lucky. I even got outside that room. I don’t even know how I did it. Can someone please show me where some of the instructions are I tried to contact the developer and they just told me to read the instructions which aren’t there I’m wondering if I need to uninstall and reinstall it, but I don’t wanna have to pay for it again. Can someone please please help me before I just go ahead and install this game for good

Hi Sydni, it seems like you created two threads on the same topic, so I've merged these into one thread. If you have additional questions after taking a look at the wiki and other suggestions above, please reply here!

I even got outside that room. I don’t even know how I did it.
The area circled in red is the door to leave the farmhouse. I'm guessing you probably walked over there.

And since there seems to be some confusion regarding the tutorial, I think it's worth mentioning that the tutorial doesn't start until you're on a farm. If there's any tutorial button outside of that (like in the menu or title screen), it's likely a toggle button for whether or not you see the tutorial once you're in-game.

SDV really has a Tutorial?
Yep. I made a new farm to take a look at what it does before writing a reply here because the only thing I remembered is that it exists. There isn't much, it shows you how to move, plant seeds and explains all pre 1.6 inventory tabs, maybe I'm missing something but stuff like that. Well early quests like getting started and how to make friends are also sort of tutorials.

Never noticed that so far, must pay attention, if I start a new farm...

I tried to turn on the tutorials once, and... So not necessary for me. Though they could most likely be useful for someone who's not played any farming game before.

There was one game I tested once... and I deleted it because it never seemed to exit tutorial mode. Just an endless stream of "do this" ... "do that" and so on for hours. So annoying. If someone started playing SDV and expected a similar level of handholding I guess they'd be in for a surprise similar to OP.

Some notes specific to android, since you're on a tablet. USUALLY, your menu will auto-select the most obvious tool for whatever you're doing. But be careful, if you have a tool manually selected (especially the pickaxe!), it may take that action instead, and the pickaxe will un-till tilled soil and destroy planted seeds or plants.

You can plant seeds by hoeing on any of the light brown dirt after you clear weeds and rocks and fallen branches off it. Select the seed packet and click on the hoed spots to plant, and select the watering can then tap the spot to water it. You will need to water every day.

Walk to any farm exit to leave to another map. You can tap to auto-walk to a location, but I did notice that on the android version, some exits are stubborn or can even be covered by the menu if on the right side of the screen.

Your tools should be on the left, per below, as are your other backpack slots. They will end up numerous enough to run off the bottom of the screen, but you should be able to touch and scroll up/down on them. ON the right, the exclamation point box are your current quests (you have a couple right from the start) and the three lines below that is your menu, which includes a bigger inventory screen for your backpack plus any items you're wearing, maps, crafting (you start with a couple of recipes, including chests for storage), friendship data with villagers once you figure out how to leave the farm, collections (anything you caught, shipped, letters you received...) and other such data.

In the first bit, you'll run out of energy fast. Once it warns you that you're getting exhausted, stop chopping things or breaking rocks and be *really* careful how much forage you pick up (go too long and you will SLOOOOOW down, and walking slooooow is really annoying), but you can use the scythe to cut weeds, and you can go to town, shop or talk to folks. In the first couple of days I'd advise doing your shopping by buying salads at the saloon, not seeds; food restores your energy and salads are the most efficient for their cost at this early stage (Later, there will be LOTS of better food options).

The pickaxe, and the pickaxe alone, will also reorganize your chests for you.
