Nintendo Switch: Seed Cracker and Predictor

Hello! I have created two new tools for the Nintendo Switch version of Stardew Valley:
These also work for PC, but if you can access your PC save file then you are probably better off using MouseyPounds' amazing Stardew Predictor.

My future plans include:
  • Adding 1.6 support when the update comes to consoles.
  • Adding support for other platforms (although I wouldn't be surprised if some work already).
  • Adding more events to the predictor.
I hope some people find this useful :)

Please let me know if you notice any bugs, incorrect predictions, etc.

Not a switch player but this is awesome, a person I know spent some time figuring out the clay and winter forage tilling patterns for switch lately too, really nice to see some work put into what's often considered the oddball platform

I wholeheartedly agree. These companies crush the creativity of modders and deny their works to be shared with all. Apple does it too. Apple’s devices are fully capable of running several high end mods, because I run them on my IPad through Steam Mobile. But again, for whatever reason they deny these artists their ability to share their creativity with more people. Good for you for cracking the code! 🤩🫶

I agree but to be entirely fair, it's your pc running the game, the mobile device is simply displaying and acting like an advanced controller for the computer.

I would love to see some more lenient measure come to apple though, it seems the EU is doing some great work when it comes to that.

That’s what my IT husband keeps reminding me lol. But they are pretty powerful on their own. I think they could handle smaller mods at least on their own. Would take up a lot of space though.

Oh yeah absolutely, modern smart devices are pretty insane, I'm shocked at the things my phone can do, easily more powerful than the everyday pcs that existed when I was young.

I'm pretty sure it isn't that the iOS cannot handle mods, it's that Apple doesn't want to give people the capability. Apple is very big on controlling what the user is allowed to do, and they're very focused on making sure that it is as little as possible.

Oooooh .... okay, I always said I didn't need to clay farm, but I admit that knowing that it's possible is intriguing.

Oh yeah we know that lol, we were just saying that the devices absolutely could run mods, we agree that computing power isn't the issue

No time like the present, more likely than not it'll be removed in 1.6 so use it while you can

The predictor is awesome and thanks for making this for the switch because there is so little resources for the switch!
Can you make the predictor able to predict bubble locations and times for the switch! That would be so helpful for me!! Thanks again!

Hey friend, im having issues using the cracker. When i input the last item from the traveling cart, i cannot find in the listed items the painting 'Primal Motion' nor use the "???" Item and select a random price and quantity. It shows "seed cannot be found". What do i do if in the traveling cart is an random furniture or painting selling? Ill try again in the next traveling cart visit, but just wanted to know what am i doing wrong.

Thanks! (Sorry for my bad English)

Hello. Sorry for the slightly late reply. The first 10 items should not include any furniture items (such as paintings). If the same problem happens on the next travelling cart visit, can you please share screenshots of all the stock.

This is a stellar utility you have developed!

Are you considering to include support for other features such as Remixed Mines, Garbage cans, etc.?

In particular I have a suspicion that remixed mines probabilities are bugged on the Switch, but manually testing the seeds is tedious and unfruitful. For example, I don't believe FL10 would generate anything other than Iron Dirk, Femur or Work Boots, despite there being three other items that would be in the pool of remixed rewards.

This is really cool though, not sure how you figured out how to do this for the Switch!

Hi, I am trying to crack my switch seed since it produced work boots on mines level 10. However, the first time I tried, it said "seed not found". This time, I ran into a problem where the price shown isn't one of the available choices.

14 Fall, Year 1
Bruschetta, 1050, 1
Dorado, 300, 1
Life Elixir, 1000*, 1
Starfruit, 2250, 1
Sweet Pea, 300, 1
Garlic Seeds, 900, 5
Yam Seeds, 700, 1
Cloth, 1880, 1
Bomb, 200, 1
Stuffing, 800, 1
Blue Armchair, 1250, 1
Woodcutter's Weekly, 6000

Am I doing anything wrong?

Hmm... I suspect that your game has updated to 1.6 (the price of life elixir was changed in the update).

I'm afraid you'll probably have to wait until I have updated the seed cracker to support 1.6. I do plan on doing this, but I'd like to wait until all bugs are fixed first, and I have a lot of other stuff to do at the moment, so it may take some time unfortunately.

I'm glad you like it!

I'll add those things to my list, but I have a lot of other stuff to do at the moment, and my current priority for this project is adding 1.6 support.

Regarding remixed mines, I have done a quick test and it looks like you are correct - because of the different PRNG on the Switch, only three of the six items will ever be generated.

Understood! Absolutely no pressure, we'll wait patiently. I'm so grateful that you are doing this at all.

Thank you so much for developing such a helpful tool! Even though I haven’t been able to crack my seed yet (probably because I updated to version 1.6), I truly appreciate your work. I’ve spent over 300 hours playing this game on the Switch and have completed most of the content. As a result, I’ve started to lose the patience to enjoy the game at a slower pace—though I still absolutely love it!

Right now, all I want is a Dragontooth Club, but I’ve already spent over 30 hours opening chests without success. When I heard about the Predictor, I was so excited to give it a try! However, I realized I need to know my game seed, which was a bit disheartening.

Thankfully, you’ve made this tool accessible for Switch players like me, and I’m really looking forward to your updates. Thank you so much for all your effort—your work means a lot to switch players !

My once-trusted seed "25" checks out; shows the Ancient Seed on Spring 5th as it did back then. I do look forward to the latest update, though I have found a new source of early Ancient Seed (and the game no longer allows them to show up at the Traveling Cart). Hoping to find an alternative seed that brings the crop fairy as soon as possible to get scarecrows as soon as possible, or as soon as possible after the Egg Festival to get more strawberries.
