NEW CHALLENGE - "Stardew Valley, but I can't leave my farm because COVID" by thesalalmon - any feedback?

Please do!! And let me know how it goes! I've compiled the rules into a graphic if you want to use it for reference, I'll add it in below. I forgot a couple little rules so I may make an updated version soon, but the basics are all there! The one big thing that's missing is NO exhausting yourself and NO staying up late enough to pass out - that's unsafe regarding someone's comment above about keeping the clinic open for others. I don't know what the 'punishment' should be if you fail that though, surely not losing the entire challenge as it could be a mistake - maybe a two week quarantine?

I was meaning the desert island style challenge. It'll be a while as I've only just got to the new 1.5 content.

Ooh, this sounds interesting. I've already started a beach farm in the 1.5 update...but, I probably can switch it up in that it began before the pandemic really took hold. And then the transition between pre-lockdown and lockdown would be interesting...

I don't have any mods either - just the regular game.
Ooh yeah that could be a fun way of playing it! You could also try a different farm - another streamer (thewhite_i_brow on twitch) started an attempt at the challenge yesterday, and they went for the Wilderness Farm in hopes there could be some benefit from monster drops. They're still early in the challenge though so it's hard to say whether that's payed off yet - one plus is a very reasonable excuse to make the Adventurers' Guild an essential service! I think it may be fun to try the Hill-top Farm because you'd be able to mine on your property, which would make upgrading tools a bit easier, and fish a mediocre amount too. I never knew the benefit of the Four Corners Farm, but reading about it just now I kind of wish I had looked into it before deciding! Haha - I'm still happy with my choice of Beach, but dang! It has benefits from three of the good ones! I could be making some hard assumptions here as I've never played it, but that may be a good way to go too.

ah oops!! Thanks for clarifying, I wasn't sure between the hermit and the lockdown which you meant and guessed wrong!
I've just started the desert island challenge. First thoughts:

You can't fish as you need to get the rod from Willy
No ore so far. It's possible I might get some from artefact spots, but I've had none from any of the rocks I can smash
Obviously you can't upgrade your tools
Nor have animals
Or buy seeds

I've used all the wild seeds and I haven't had any more. Not had dandelion or daffodil spawn on my farm so cannot make spring seeds, even though I have the recipe.

I'm not sure what else to do now.

I think you would be safe to do the community center itself since it is abandoned and no other villagers visit until it is completed. You could hold off completing it until the end of COVID and the reopening could be your end of COVID party.

The issue is the cut scene with Louis at the beginning and then visiting the Wizard at his tower to get the forest magic (visiting others homes, big COVID no-no).
