My portraits are loading the vanilla ones

Right now I'm using 1.6 version on mac (Or at least that is what I think the most updated version is called)

So I'm trying to use this Wenhua mod to change the portraits for marry-able characters but the game only loads the vanilla ones, I'm not sure what to do??
