My list of suggestions for Stardew Valley!

Here is a list of suggestions, additions and changes i would like see in Stardew Valley:
  • When collecting a processed item from a machine(keg, preserve jar, etc...) while holding an item compatible with that same machine, the game will collect and place the held item onto the machine in one action/move, this way will make collecting and replenishing a whole shed worth of produced items much faster and will avoid leaving machines empty by mistake.
  • Being able to place a plaque on the wall of sheds/barns/coops similar to the one that indicates that Robin is upgrading it, but you will be able to select the item/animal displayed on it so you know what's inside the building, also helpful in case you have small corridors and you don't want to use a floor space.
  • Symbol above sheds/coops/barns showing that a machine inside has finished processing, possibly even showing how many, this way we don't have to be constantly getting in and out of buildings to check.
  • Being able to open the animal "menu" while they sleep so that we can sell them and re-allocate them later during the day.
  • Being able to move through other NPC's or make them move instantly out of the way when you walk towards them.
  • Bigger refrigerators the size of big chests.
  • When re-allocating an animal the farm camera would start centered on the current barn/coop.
  • Keyboard/controller shortcut that allows us to write the exact amount we want to take from a stack of items.
  • Stop spouse/husband from placing random furniture around the house.
  • When lightning breaks a tree it will not break the tapper as well and it will be left on the floor for the player to pick it up.
  • On PC, using the mouse, when scrolling up it goes to the item on the right of the tool bar and vice-versa
  • On Pierre's shop, being able to filter so that it only shows crops for selected season, also more sorting options like price and type.
  • Indicator of which notes/journal scraps we have already solved or collected the item from.
  • Indicator of which heart events we have already seen with each character. Maybe make the hearts corresponding to the event a different color depending on whether it has been seen or not in the NPC list.
  • An in-game catalog with the time, weather, season and location that each fish can be caught. Hints could be given before catching the first one of each fish and after that the exact information could be shown.
  • A way for trees to never change appearance and not be affected by moss/acid rain, vinegar does not always prevent this making tree look ugly(in my opinion).
  • Make the bottom tiles of the farm visible by making the wall in front of it transparent.
  • (Not sure about this one but could be interesting) After achieving perfection and reaching the summit it would be neat if we had the option to extend how long the day lasts from around 14 to around 18 IRL minutes just like the skull cavern, this would be useful since at that stage of the game the player is going to have much more items to manage and harvest, this would also increase the IRL time it would take for crops to grow and extend the amount of play time to get through the seasons so it should be optional in case the player does not want it.
  • Shane's room becomes clean after his 8-heart event.
  • Click on horse to move it out of the way when moving buildings.
  • Being able to move the pet's bowl without having to go to Robin's Carpenter's Shop.
Please let me know what you think and which ones of my suggestions you agree and disagree with, and feel free to share your ideas and suggestions as well.

Thank you.

I agree with these ones

I feel that a lot of these things may make it a little too easy. Imao

These would be great things to put in a mod, though! (Just so that it's optional. I realize that lots of people would love to have these changes, I just personaly like the way it is. 🤷‍♂️)

The in-game time could be slower. Sometimes it feels rushed. I think the devs brainstormed this enough to find a good balance but for my personal taste the day could be a bit longer. I tried some mods to alter the time but it doesn‘t work flawlessly.

Hey guys, I thought long and hard on this with nearly 3k hours in it vanilla!

PLEASE let us physically hold the COOL looking return scepter!! For SO many accidentally use it from INVENTORY and bam you messed up your whole skull caverns dive!! Back home. Sad! But it's also cool looking yet our toon can't hold it out?!?

Secondly, please enable a setting, Giving Prompt? When you give a give you can have it pop up, "yes or no?".

Everyone's asking for this one!! Settings sitting rest option: when sitting on chair: "Think or Wait" selection Prompt. This enables a choice to choose when you sit down that either keeps the time going, or stops (NPCs freeze if you choose think), without having to look at your inventory to pause time. You can sit down at home, in town, and time can flash paused on the clock since every hour is crucial in Stardew. I can think better looking at the environment, versus all my inventory.

Please fix the dagger special attack, when you kill an enemy on its 3 attack jab, well on a kill hit of the 1 or 2nd or 3rd jab and a mob opens a staircase, it force the farmer down causing you to lose the ability to stay on the floor and scavenge!

More time when on the farm? We can either set the golden clock making it interactive so you can set it's hour making time only while on the farm slower? 1-12 hours= 1-12% slower? 12% would be quite a big change.

Fireplace and Spa energy buff help early on:

Hardwood wood debris spawn but drops only 1 piece around farm and game with the regular sorts of debris, rarer, but the regular axe can chop up, 5 hits for 1 hardwood. All fireplaces now can stock normal wood to turn on, 1 piece for the day, game starts with a basket of 5 wood next to it to grab (like the hay and coop box on meadowlands farm), so 1-5 pieces of wood and hardwood can be placed in the starting fireplace which turns it on, but lasts for 1-5 days respectively of wood inserted. In the morning it breaks down to one coal per night that can build up and you can gather anytime. When you're in the room or building with a fireplace stocked with hardwood you'll know it by the warmth icon at top of screen, this buff reduces the overnight energy penalty of having passed out or became exhausted the night prior. Furthermore, but normally for using hardwood in your fireplace (and with the spa update) one receives a 5 hour warmth icon buff above when you awake from a hardwood fire and the icon will flash and disappear after 2? in game hours which -25% energy loss reduction as you work around the farm or whatever, AND you get the warmth buff going into the spa for a relaxing dip for 4-5? in game hours afterward that grants the player a -25% in energy reduction. This will make more intentional interaction and interest with fireplace stocking realism and going to the spa..

Call friends on the phone after gaining a heart to see their flashing face icon and location on your map for the next 30 game mins, when you reach 3 hearts with them you can call them anytime to request their whole brief daily schedule to read giving you the outline of places they'll be for the day, and also again their current temporary flashing icon for 30 game minutes).

Updates to call Willie for the specific bait in house for the day). Willie's bait stays in stock -like items sold to him- for bait it stays 3 days before bait expires, starting on day 1, his bait will stay, even though a new type appears the next for max of 3 in the bait box next to him to purchase. It would be cool to click on the bait box next to him to check his bait counter inventory as well so you don't have to talk to him or cycle down (just for quicker fun of interaction with his counter for only baits), but you can also buy it from talking to him directly. Maybe have a tackle box too for funsies.

Emily updates to Sewing machine to creating custom clothes and wears we can draw and use. Then enchant our clothes further through wizards school below. Imagine clothes having stealthy -10% in reducing of enemies line of sight, so they can't see you as far away? Many possibilities here ...

Wizards Magical School of Quests to gain knowledge regarding all the other gems and crystals which going through his School adds Functional mods to all gems and crystals in the game to be used and enchanted as normal into items and weapons. New enchantment of clothing too. Newly functional magical furniture that allows identification quests, edits and create magical items and enhancements from enchanting the gems and crystals, also magical potion creations using the cauldrons similar to life potion and energy tonic, he also teaches some meals with magical custom mods of skills or gains.

Emily updates to creating custom clothes and wears we can use. Then enchant further through wizards school.

Qi's Technology Catelogue (A mod making and editing catelogue for Stardew valley).
Learn to mod your game from Qi's walnut room.
We already have catalogues, character generator, and the ability to adjust buildings (Robin), this just adds the ability to literally create and mod your game files from his Walnut Computer Room massive computer systems. After you learn a while with him, you gain a transporter from house to control room, and a mini computer console that loads and unloads mods from your farm. Before you start adding things to his tech catelogue, even turning selfmade mods on and off, he's got many computer and tech furniture items to place around that are actually functional from cameras, monitors, sensors, computers, animal DNA testing and tweaking on your pets too create certain quality animal products, colors, behaviors and so on. Crop genetics and engineering.

Acts of Kindness (A love language mod). Spouses do MUCH more, farm, follow and fight. Spar. Errands like obtaining specific items from the traveling merchant, foraging entire areas, etc.

Quality Time (A love language mod).
Adds a new row of 10 hearts gained a different way than Gift giving: spending time doing what they do and have asked in the base game (Sew with Emily, smelt with Clint, watch TV with George while Evelyn serves you coffees (essos after 5 hearts), play music with Elliot, read books with wizard, and fish with Willie. There are immediate benefits and heart progress events (eg, while fishing next to Willie, one gains training rod status on your own rod; +1 fishing level, and fish escape slower). At 3 hearts he builds you a fish pond free ... 5 hearts he starts offering to smoke all your fish free overnight if placed in his box after a typical full fishing session with him.).

Settings to enable a drop down: when sitting on chair: Think or Wait Prompt. This enables a choice to choose when you sit down that either keeps the time going, or stops without having to look at your inventory to pause time. You can sit down at home, in town, and time can flash paused on the clock since every hour is crucial in Stardew. I can think better looking at the environment, versus all my inventory.
