Why do you need to invent the universe just to make apple pie?

Because you first need matter to create atoms, which came from the big bang, then atoms create you, then you create an oven, and the energy, from the big bang, which got put into some matter, which you burn, to heat up the apple pie you made.
(a lot more complicated than this btw)
