So... Sylo and Coren. Well, Sylo's the youngest prince of the kingdom of Regantium. Coren's just a commoner. They ended up connecting since they both had similar optimistic, rambunctious personalities. They're each a lot to handle sometimes. You'd think that a prince wouldn't be friends with a commoner like that, but the royal family quite often sends themselves and their children out into the public to build rapport. Coren is a farm boy. He and his family live on the outskirts of the capital. They live on a rhubarb farm. Sylo and Coren don't have much in their past. For the most part, barring the fact that Sylo is a prince, the two of them have had fairly normal upbringings. They also train with many others under their master, Cedrin. They mainly train in swordsmanship.
That implies:
A. I know what I'm doing
B. I'll be able to get it done in the next four or so years.
CA has said that he'd like the game out by 2030 so I'd expect it sometime before then for sure. This is a big project and I'm new to this sort of thing.
I'm basically stealing from a bunch of different inspirations... but don't the best works come from that practice?
In terms of lore... I've already said that my main inspiration for this game was that I wanted to write, partially brought on seemingly randomly but also brought on by a bit by seeing my mother write. I don't have much of an inspiration on that front.
In terms of games, it would be games like Deltarune and Hollow Knight. A bit of Stardew Valley too, I guess, but not much. Mainly, I like these games with great stories that'll challenge me in different ways.
If I make ghosts into actual characters instead of just being in-game folklore, then yeah, I'll make sure that they're more than just "ooooh boooo spoookyyy scaaarrrryyyyyyy"
