Switch Mummified bat spawn rate

Have been personally experiencing plus seeing multiple posts about it on Reddit but the drop rate seems to be bugged on the switch.

Myself and a few others have gone into the volcano destroying every rock we see for 1 ingame year and yet have not seen the bat fossil. I don’t think the luck can be that bad when it’s very simple to find fossil on the PC
