Switch Multiplayer: Keyboard window does not stop clock

Playing on Nintendo Switch, most recent update as of posting, my wife was buying a chicken while I was deep in the mines. When the text editor prompt took up the screen and the visible gameplay behind it was blurred and stopped, this gave the appearance that the game had been paused. I had full HP when this started and the text editor removes control of the second player character entirely.

However, when the name had been selected for the chicken, the game came back into focus with my character locked into the 0 HP animation, swarmed by slimes. We tested it and monsters keep attacking while the text window is up.

I do not know if this is exclusive to Switch, if it happens in single-player, or if it's even considered as a bug, but it certainly seems out of the intended design so I thought I'd post. Perhaps as a result of the norm for games to pause for the text editor, we assumed that the editor should pause the clock and the in-combat player should not be taking damage.
