Hi farmers! ^-^
So i played a lot of Stardew recently with my girlfriend. The possibility to marry other players is pretty awesome. Needles to say that we did so.
But there are some things... i think could be there to make it much more fun. So i wanna share some ideas i have for improving player-player interactions!
Kissing your player-spouse
It should be possible, since there is no reason for it being not present.
It would work exactly the same as with your NPC-Spouse.
-Could be triggered by simply interacting with your player-spouse.
-Both players would freeze in movement for the duration of the kiss - playing the animation.
-There should be a cooldown for it to not annoy players with that.
Player heart-meter
Would be awesome if there was a heart-meter just like with NPCs with other players.
Filling those up could be done by interactions between players like: Trading items, kissing (when married), working on the farm near each other, participating in events together like: mining, flower dance, … i think u understand. Of course there should be a limit to how muchheart-points you can earn on a single day. Based on the counts of hearts, players could get benefits when doing this together like: slightly increased luck, chance of better quality products by doing farmwork together, +0,25 damage resistance/heart - something like this.
You can look at this idea as a bond of friendship or love which strengthens players in different things, when working as partners.
Girl/Boyfriend players
So you can date NPCs with the bouqet. Why not other players?
The procedure could be one of those two: Possible anytime by just offering a bouqet. Or you could combine this with the player heart-meter idea + bouqet. Dating would allow you to kiss a player but not having children and also not receiving the marriage-stardrop fruit. Also it would allow you to use my next idea. The player to accept your bouqet then is declared as your boy/girlfirend in the social tab.
Going on a date
So, i dont exactly know how and if this happens everytime you get really close to a NPC (not played for very long) but there is a cutscene where you go on a dinner with your partner in the Saloon. I feel like some things like this could also be possible. Meeting up and going out - between players. This would also add up to the player heart-meter idea.
Punishment for cheating
(If something like this already exists and i’m not aware, please inform me about that)
This should be a thing. While officially breaking up is pretty fine, cheating on your partner or even spouse should be punished. I thought about it when you try to get very close to someone while already in a relationship. There should be decreased luck for some time or something like that. Just some way of the game to tell you: Dude, that was not very cool of you. You hurt someones feelings.
These are some things that came to my mind, i wanted to share with ya.
Primarly i really would like to hear what you think about it. Do you think different? Or like it? Maybe any additions? I’m looking forward for what y’all think!
And please - even if not with my ideas - make player marriage more fun! :) <3
