More ways to obtain coal!!!

We need more and simpler ways to obtain coal, it is far too insufficient!!!!!!!!!!Whether it's mines, caves, or processing coal, it is very time-consuming and labor-intensive, and in the end, we can only acquire a pitifully small amount. This greatly undermines the gaming experience, and because of this, I am considering whether to continue playing; I hope the next update will definitely improve this!!! :heartrip: :heartrip: :heartrip:

i agree it takes awhile :P

i don't know how far along you are in game but there's a machine called the charcoal kiln, and it takes 10 pieces of wood to make a charcoal. you can get it by being a level 2 forager or by completing the construction bundle in the community center :junicheer:

i feel like that helps if you ever need charcoal quickly.

(also to make it you need 20 pieces of wood and 2 copper bars)

My favorite 2 ways of getting coal are mass-producing charcoal kilns, and just buying it from Clint. It's really not that expensive, especially for later game stuff, and also considering that CA has made it easier to acquire coal over the years

I had one run, where I was constantly out of coal, but in my last few runs, there have been most of the time more coal than I need, even with fish smokers. There are coal nodes both in Skull Cavern and Volcano, and dust sprites drop it. In early game it's sometimes scarce (and buying it or using charcoal kiln are not good options as then there isn't a lot of money either. Actually in my last runs the scarce resource seems to be -- wood. Normal wood. OK I've not been crafting tree fertilizer, I'm waiting for the bone mill...

If you know me then you know wood is never a problem for me, lol.

I’ve seen a good tree farm technique is to make multiple rows of alternating saplings and gravel so that baby trees grow between the trees and then you can cut down the adults and let the babies keep growing.

Are you self planting with this method, or would you be letting the trees seed themselves?

Should seed themselves after the first generation grows up. Unless debris gets in the way.
The only reason I ask is bc some people (definitely not me) like things to grow fast, and manually seeding would increase your wood yield, even if it does take a little bit of time out of your day every now and then

It's a small thing, but the light grey rocks in the mines have a higher chance of dropping coal, and once your pickaxe is upgraded at least once they only take a single hit to go through. I don't go crazy with preserves jars or anything but I've found once I got into the habit of digging through all of them I pass while mining I've never run out of coal.
