It would be nice if we could have more locations to travel to. It will also be nice if we had an airport in pelican town so we can visit these new destinations.

Some farmers have an airstrip on their land as they're amateur pilots and flying enthusiasts. Our family friends in Illinois have one with 2 planes, so it's not too uncommon. Looks like the Farmer will need to supply the land for this venture and now it sounds like a good idea for a farm design!

Our town has an "airport" just outside of town on someone's farm.

We're talking about an “airport” like this, aren't we?

BUT - to stay with the topic of travel - one could, in a more abstract sense, enable a balloon ride with tickets, as is the case with Willy and his ferry.
Traveling to more/new locations is often suggested already - by boat, train, bus... so why not by balloon...

I think the point you were making in your previous post was spot on, Pelican Town is far too small for any kind of paved airport with a Comm Tower. Instead it'd be a grassy airstrip like Ih8Lewis4ever mentioned and our family friends have on their farm. That seems well aligned with Pelican Town's size and needs.

Seeing as the Bookseller already travels in by balloon so the Town already has a landing and commerce site, balloon trips seem to be a great option. Not to mention Harvey managed a balloon trip before the Bookseller even thought to expand his lighter-than-air business travel to Pelican Town.
