Money-making

Don't forget there's useful real estate for kegs or crystallariums in the quarry and the desert. I have several hundred kegs in the desert, plus jade crystallariums, and 400 diamond crystallariums in the quarry and along the bridge. The quarry project was mostly to see how long it would take, but I think a diamond crystallarium pays for itself in about 6 weeks, then it's pure profit.
Also, it's easy to grow more than enough Starfruit on Ginger Island to keep a completely full cellar constantly processing Starfruit wine... So much so that I have huge backlog - waiting until it becomes iridium quality is taking too long.

I make around $8 million per season just selling ancient fruit wine on my current save. I only grow on ginger island and the greenhouse.

Replanting is the single most tedious thing in the game, so any plant that constantly produces without having to be replanted is a win in my book. Being able to grow pineapples in pots without having to water every day is going to up my income potential considerably.

Basically, if money is your focus, then ancient fruit is your best friend in the whole world.

i make anywhere between 5k-25k per day
I have... hm.... 3 rabbits, 2 sheep, 4 pigs, 6 goats, 4 cows, 2 void chickens, 1 blue chicken, 3 ducks, and 7 reg. chickens i believe. I just collect all their stuff everyday and process it - i make eggs into mayonnaise, wool into cloth, and milk into cheese (i always prioritize making goat milk into goat cheese bc it's worth far more) and i sell the rest of the stuff/save it for cooking

i also go to the mines every so often and sell a bunch of materials from there that i don't need
i'll also occasionally sell an iridium bar which is worth a whopping 1k each like whoa

I make a pretty good haul every day doing that, though i could probably earn more if i got more processers (i only have 6 cheese makers, 1 cloth maker, and 2 mayonnaise makers :P )

There's a couple other things you can plant that are even more profitable than Ancient Fruit in the greenhouse and on Ginger Island, but it would require more micromanagement.

Specifically, Hops. Brewed into Pale Ale, they return a profit of 420g/day. Ancient Fruit yields 2,310g/week or 330g/day. However, it requires twice as many kegs to keep up with the brewing demand. Also, Hops are a trellis crop, so you can't walk through them, meaning you can still infill with ancient fruit.

The problem is that while the plants will never need to be replanted, they require daily harvesting, which may be more work than you are willing to put in.

Right now I have two sheds about full with preserved jars and kegs. And a greenhouse full of ancient fruit. I was doing animals for a while but I’m not sure if I should continue, because it seems kinda high attention, low reward. How do you feel about the animals approach?
My farm has a similar focus on wine production but I also maintain animals (2 barns and 1 coop). My auto-grabbers are a life saver since it means I can alternate days that I visit my coops and barns. Not too long though since I still have to pet them to maintain product quality! Large milk and large eggs are so much better than regular size. Also, I heard that happy pigs find more truffles.

Duck eggs and goats milk always get processed first. I sell all mayo and goat cheese after it is processed. I took the Botanist skill so when I collect truffles they are always iridium quality. Those I sell rather than process. The occasional cloth I get from my 1 rabbit I keep for tailoring (just for fun). Gold quality Cheese is either sold or kept as fuel for days I go mining. All other cheese is sold since my cellar is processing wine!

I like the rhythm of visiting the animals and processing their products. It is almost meditative for me at this point. Just relaxing but I can feel productive at the same time.

I used Ginger Island for fairy honey. Grows all year without issue, and getting the coal to make the beehives isn't that bad, when you have a burglar ring, double chance of coal perk, and monster musk to get more monsters to hunt. I put down enough bee hives to get a tad over 200k every 4 days. I also grow a a lot of taro roots. It's kinda fun getting the bones to buy the taro roots, and then letting the river irrigate them. I mainly save those and cook them for that 100,000 qi cooking challenge. It's a simple meal to make and high value. I also have 10-20 crystalriums to make diamonds too.

For my main farm, I kept it to around 300 plots of land and grew a variety of crops on them. They are managed by two junimo huts. I also have a bigger area to grow high fiber and a giant pumpkin crop (my wife wants giant pumpkins, so she gets a giant pumpkin). I just keep 1-2 of each of the animals, just so they keep me supplied, especially for pumpkin soup. Took me a ton of time but I also got two auto-petters, so I don't have to even think about dealing with animals anymore, but I'm still trying to figure out the optimum amount of greenspace, so they don't eat all the grass when it's not winter. Green house has some ancient fruit, but it's not full or anything. I'm thinking of using the new super fertilizer to grow all iridium quality crops, since it doesn't seem to wear out.

I was never into doing things the most efficiently. I have a grove for tapped trees (just realized that I could have been tapping the new trees for sap, so I need to make room for that), and a bigger one I use to get wood. I have... I think it's 8 fish ponds that I used mainly just to grow stock, cause there is no need for me to have good quality fish for anything, and I like having a bunch of every item. I turned the bigger farm pond into a crab pot trap, and have some space for growing grass. I have a monster hut but never did anything with it. I have another 10-20 crystalariums that I grow mainly diamonds and amethysts for gifts. There's also a ton of lighting rods, because I really hated lighting destroying my stuff. Like, I'm kinda surprised that more space isn't used for lighting rods when I look at farm showcase videos. Like, I had 20 of the things and it still wasn't enough. I was really mad one time because after I got my first sweet gem berry growing lighting hit it, and I had a bunch of lighting rods at the time, so I just laid into them after that. It was a real setback.

I never bothered littering the world with stuff, and if I did, I would probably take it down now, because I value aesthetics over making a ton of money I'll never spend. I have a few crab pots on the ocean, since there are fish there I can't get otherwise, a chest on the beach, that I don't really need anymore, since getting all the teleport items, and a chest beside the ginger island warp location, which I like keeping my weapons in.

Past game year I was grinding for the clock so I went heavy into ancient fruit wine, but that's done now. The honey is more than enough money for everything I could possibly need, unless I wanted to buy a ton of endless fortune statues. Currently thinking about how I want to update my layout.
