Mods not updating/adding anymore

Hello!

Ever since I attempted to move my mods to an SSD that was recently installed on my laptop, I have been having trouble adding more mods and updating them. I'm pretty I moved every thing back to the original download folder and deleted any copies. I also reinstalled SMAPI to my laptop but everything still seems "frozen". It's not registering updates, additions, and it even didn't register when I deleted a mod. (I tried to delete Content Patcher for a bit and it was still on the "need to update" list. I do not know if there is something else I have to do in my laptop in general.

Thank you in advance!

Did you identify the folder in which the mods are supposed to be loaded? from the Smapi log parser it seems to be pulling from here:

15:10:54INFOSMAPIMods go here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Stardew Valley\Mods

if you want SMAPI to pull from a different location, you will have to identify the right location when you are in the process of installing SMAPI (usually it prompts where the files should be found).

Is there a way I can identify where my mods folder is? I think it was originally just in Downloads, which is why I tried to put it back after moving. If I can have the whole thing go to my SSD that would be perfect, but that's what broke it in the first place.

While I’ve never tried it before myself, typically I use the following logic:
  • Uninstall Smapi
  • Next have a copy of the full SSD location details on hand as you will need that information.
  • Finally re-install Smapi; there are multiple points where it prompts you to respond. There should be a point when it asks you whether you want to use the default folder location or if you have a different place you want to point to. Of course in your case choose the latter and then you should be able to provide the new location. Note you may need to type this out manually so make sure you have a view of the location on hand just in case
  • Complete the process of installing Smapi
Hope my explanation was clear enough.

Also just a note: take the Folder address as mentioned in my first message and go to that location in your file explorer address box. You had mentioned your downloads folder but tbh this is not where the mod files will be pulled from based on your Smapi log.

In the event that redirecting Smapi to your SSD fails, change the mods found in that other folder.
