Missing my previous free cactuses

Hey!
I came up with a cool way to decorate with alle the free cactuses i have gotten from the desert festival, but when i went to take them out of my chest, they were all gone?! Is this how the game is ment to be, that they despawn if you dont use them, or am i going crazy and maybe just deleted them or just cant find them? Is anyone else missing their free cactuses? :( I am playing on switch if that means something in this scenario.

You can test that again but I don't think you ornament of cacti dispear finally.
Maybe you just reclaimed them in your trash can?
