Ok, so I’m at 10 hearts with Shane (yippee), BUT I missed the 10 heart event, 8, and 6, am I able to activate those still? Because if so I am having a very hard time doing it.

I'm not 100% sure on the 10 heart one, but I think you should still be able to get 8 and 6? It can be easy to miss some of his events since each one requires you to see a past one.
For 6 hearts, go to Cindersap Forest between 9am and 8pm while storming or raining.
For 8 hearts, go to Marnie's Ranch while Shane is home.
There's also a 7 heart event I think you need to get before you can see the 8 heart one. For that you need to go to Marnie's Ranch while Shane is home, after triggering Shane's six heart event.
For 6 hearts, go to Cindersap Forest between 9am and 8pm while storming or raining.

Most events aren't missable, there's only 1 that you can totally miss without active effort to get it (one of Sam's first year cutscenes, limited to that year due to it talking about Kent), and a few of the spouse heart events can be missed if you skip the order, but Shane's isn't one of them as far as I know, so you're totally fine.
