The best way to get reliable mixed seeds is probably by running super cheap crops through seedmakers, which can actually be a win-win in the sense that you make a little extra off of stuff like blueberries when turned into seed packets.
That being said, if you're trying to craft grass starters I would honestly just buy them, they're only 100g per when bought at pierre's and if you place a fence/machine over them then you can really stretch out a few of them. I would argue that it's easier to get 100g than to get multiple mixed seeds, water multiple crops for a week, then harvest them and craft the grass starter.
If you really don't want to spend money, I would also recommend just farming fiber in the mines, you can get up to and over 1000 fiber a day by just resetting level 81 of the mines, I have a guide on how to do it on youtube but it's really just a bunch of minor tips over the super simple process of resetting a floor and whacking weeds.
