This bug may or may not relate to mods. Not attaching SMAPI logs because there is nothing there about this (as it's evidently not caused by any detectable technical error).
Villagers struggle to get to the Ginger Island resort after unlocking the shortcuts in the Community Upgrade.
While they're typically supposed to arrive at Ginger Island around 11am, I saw them walking into the Pelican Town beach from the shortcut near Leah's house around 3:20pm. They made it into Willy's shop around 4:10pm, and arrived on the dock around 4:20pm. They weren't in their bathing suits enjoying the island until around 4:40pm! This may have been the day after finishing the upgrade, or perhaps a couple days later - I hadn't been keeping track exactly, but can try to check if needed.
On another day, when I took the obelisk to the island around 1pm, I saw villagers there as normal, so I thought perhaps the bug only applied immediately after doing the upgrade. Unfortunately, that isn't the case. It happened again a few days later - some of the boys walked into the Pelican Town beach from the Leah shortcut around 7:30pm! They went to the island and were still on the island in their bathing suits past 9:00pm! I didn't stay to see exactly when they went home (or if they ever did!).
The only mod I have is Baldur's Village, and its dependencies which are Content Patcher, SMAPI, and Portraiture. It doesn't do anything with Ginger Island except for allowing Astarion to visit there (which he didn't even happen to be doing when I first noticed this bug; he was there for the late-night boys' trip incident, though!). No issues before doing the shortcut upgrade.
