Switch Kent 7-heart recipe not learnt despite having received letter

I remember receiving the letter, but a few in-game days later, I checked my recipes and it wasn't there. Can't cook it, so I can't get perfection. I tried closing and reopening the game a couple times, and lowering and raising Kent's hearts, but neither did anything.

This person seems to have had the same problem as me; they say they had to use a save-file editor, which I won't:

I'm not sure you could use a save editor on the Switch anyways, unless your Switch was hacked, which I believe is only possible with the early version of the old model.

As to your problem, I personally got Kent's letter a few days ago and got the recipe alright, so it must be some specific set of circumstances that causes it to happen. I think the only feasible option on Switch would have been to catch the issue the day you read the letter and noticed you didn't get the recipe, then restarted the day and hope for a different outcome. Hopefully someone else may have a real solution for you.
