Windows Journey of the Prairie King Movement Bug

In Journey of the Prairie King, moving right and shooting diagonally down-left conflict with each other.
When I hold the controls to shoot down-left, pressing the key to move right does not register. If I shoot in any other direction, rightward movement works normally.
If I am already moving right, shooting diagonally down-left does not register. While moving right, I am able to shoot in any other direction.
The issue happens consistently, and seems to happen in both single and multiplayer.

Could this issue be caused by keyboard ghosting, perhaps? Various key combinations aren't processed if pressed at the same time. Try testing it out to see if it's an issue outside of the game too.
