It would be cool if there was a note pad you could unlock after year one

It would most likely be a new tab in the journal, unlocked by purchasing/finding a wallet item from somewhere, you could write reminders and tasks for your daily routine, and it could also have a month day selector so you can have weekly/biweekly task reminder notifications

I wouldn't mind it just being available from the get-go, seems more useful in the early game than anywhere else, and it's not like its some overpowered mechanic that needs to be gatekept behind an abritrary point in time.

Honestly I mentioned this on a similar suggestion, but just tweaking the journal to allow us to make our own "quests"/journal entries would be an awesome change

EXCELLENT idea! It boggles my mind when a computer game requires a pen and paper next to the keyboard. I currently keep a to-do list AND a favorite recipes list written on paper next to my keyboard. Makes about as much sense as driving to a computer game store and paying cash for a disc you take home and plug into your computer just to play a computer game instead of downloading it from the internet (I'm looking at you, 1995-2008). We have the freaking technology to clean up my messy desk IRL by having a spot to write stuff down in the game. Why are we not using that tech? OF COURSE this should be part of the game!

Yes! That would be so useful. Especially when you have multiple files and you need to remember what you’re doing in each one.
