Switch Issues with Mining and Barn Animal Behavior in Split Screen on Switch

I am experiencing multiple issues while playing Stardew Valley in split-screen mode on the Nintendo Switch. Here are the problems I've encountered:

  1. Mining Issue:
    • Player 1 is unable to mine properly. When they hit a rock, the resources freeze, and the item cannot be collected. This issue worsens over time, eventually causing the game to crash.
    • Pattern: The issue starts with a single resource freezing, then progressively affects more resources until the game crashes.
  2. Barn Animal Behavior:
    • My barn animals have stopped moving properly during the day. After leaving their barn, they walk to a specific spot and then remain stationary in a V formation.
    • Impact: This behavior has caused my pigs to stop producing truffles.
Additional Details:

  • Version Number: I am using the latest version of the game. I have not modified the game with any mods.
  • Error Text: There has been no specific error message, but the game crashes during the mining issue.
  • Operating System: Nintendo Switch.
  • In-Game Language: English.
  • Multiplayer: Playing in split-screen (local multiplayer).
  • Input: Using controllers, two switch pro controller.
Thank you for your time and assistance. I hope these issues can be resolved in an upcoming patch! Girlfriend and I are loving the game but these problems have made us put it down a good couple of times.

I am having the same issue with barn animals freezing.

For the mining issue, have you had the issue if player 2 goes down the ladder first or only player 1? I find it happens when player 1 goes first which is interesting because with the volcano bug player 1 has to go first.
