Isnt it a cruel twist of fate…

That you left capitalistic Joja for a more ‘down to earth’ way of living only to turn into a capitalist of the cruelest form: a Junimo slave driver who somehow got kicked out of the spirit world that they left the refurbished CC for only to be sentenced to being your crop harvesting slaves? Um yeah. I used to use the Junimo huts until I saw the horrid correlation between the two. 🫤 I hope the poor Junimos forgive me.

I never really viewed it that way personally. I think the Junimos are very carefree, happy spirits. You build a hut for them, you don't buy them, so this means they move in on their own. You don't tell them to harvest crops, they just see full crops and decide to do it themselves. They like to harvest crops and they keep them in their hut, and they don't mind that you take them because they are technically yours. They enjoy and react to things you leave them too, including their favorite snacks. I think it's more of a symbiotic relationship, especially after they willingly moved out of their homes in the community center. They're happy that you provided homes for them on your farm too so they like to help you. I think it's very sweet and cute.

Also, not to mention, you don't even need to put them around crops. They're just chilling and doing whatever. I've never, when I've had huts, viewed myself as owning junimos or making them work in any capacity. But, that's just how I view it, and I don't think it conflicts with the game's messages in the slightest

I don't have that feeling, I gave them a house in the best place of the valley and pay them well for their not done well job :dwarf: (they are slow, they don't work on winter or rainy days and even they get stuck or just standing there and I have to give them a little push).
But thinking about it, for me it's like giving a job to a friend or let him to be on your team, knowing that he isn't the best option but you do it anyway because is your friend 😅

I've also not been interested in re-employing the junimos but more because I need control over my fields as I need to
Bomb them every so often to keep the soil in tip-top shape. Now I can't be having junimos getting in the way of a good BOOM, deflecting the shrapnel with their little tree-fruit bodies. Because I don't have time for those types of complications.

I'm a Farmer! I attend my crops and manage my time appropriately with incendiary devices occasionally sent via post by the local war vet. This is important work, not to be done by a bunch of interns stuck in a grass hut at summer camp. This is my farm. I will mismanage it as I see fit.

Put another way:

"Who's the barber here?"

I'll instead build a Junimo Hostel here 'n there on the farm well away from Crops, which is easy as there are almost none on my farm anyway so they can just visit when they feel like a vacation.

i only ever had one junimo hut and i couldn't get him to come out because i had turned off the option without realizing it and i thought i had done something wrong and killed the little guy😭 so i got rid of it and never bought one again. although i might try again since i found out what went wrong.

Best is going Joja route AND having Junimo huts overworked, on your behalf! Next better thing ever, is purchasing Joja membership and then, turn in the last CC bundle!

Junimos have no problem to work with you. If you feel like you are slavedriving them, then you should absolutely feed them raisins, making sure they never run out of the stuff! And adorn their huts with a gem of your choosing, to become the color you like.

You taking care of those taking care of you, alleviates any wrongdoing, if any at all!

Wait I get it as easy way to prepare for the next season but what profit is lost on the fiber plants? I’ve never tried to sell them just use them. But this is a long running farm for you so the little cash details likely don’t matter lol!
The Fiber plants are a necessary loss as they're the only "crop" you can plant on tilled soil that live through all 4 seasonal transitions, thus retaining their tilled, watered, and fertilized status. The time and money savings on:

Re-tilling each tile (my arms hurt)
Re-watering each tile (why is water so heavy)
Replacing all the lost Deluxe Speed-Gro in each tile (falls over face first, just missing that thing cosplaying as a Truffle)

…3-4 times per year is wayyyyy well worth the loss of a similar amount of Sap (lol), Clay, and Mixed Seeds. Plus I get to Bomb stuff. Win-Win!

Yeah this is a later-ish game strategy but 'later' is Year 2 which for me is still pretty early game as I kinda find speeding thru the game to be missing the point. I save Clay and Mixed Seeds like a
HatMouse.png
Rodent in early game and merely earmark 1/4 of my Farmed tiles each season as the amount Clay and Mixed Seeds I need. The rest can be used elsewhere, like planting Mixed Seeds at Ginger.

The Fiber itself is super useful for making Tea Saplings for funz and profit but by the time I'm doing this Year 2, Tea Sapling
has been replaced by Crops. I do lament the loss of Fiber as I need about 400 of it for making Grass Starter on Winter 28 for the following day's Annual Farmer Bobbi Grass Explosion Celebration!

The only time on the farm that super cool Explosions don't involve Bombs.
