PC Is it possible to play Stardew Valley multiplayer on IOS and PC together

I got some students who got iPads and I have Stardew Valley on Steam (PC). Is it possible for me to play multiplayer with them?

Will it be a massive headache to set up?

Yes, it's possible to set that up, if everyone is connected to the same network it should be easy, but if not it might be a bit more annoying to do it.
