Hey everyone! I have a large modpack 600+ mods and am having serious performance issues. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on? I'm using my modpack, which I've been making for over two years, and it's really annoying that my main PC only gets 10-30 fps. I have a more powerful laptop, where everything is perfect and I always get a stable 60 fps. I don't think the laptop's components are much better than my main PC's, since the PC's components in SDV aren't even under load.
I reread this page twice and tried the following options: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Troubleshooting
Added optimization mods that unload texture cache, disable core 0, and set priority to high, but this also doesn't noticeably affect performance.
Installed almost every .NET components
Updated GPU drivers
Changed multithreading
Changed screen resolution to Full HD (I have 2K)
Changed in-game scaling (for an experiment, I installed a mod on my laptop that allows infinite screen zooming, set the zoom to 35%, and even then I got 30 fps, provided I had Vanillin Farmland Fields installed).
I prefer to play in co-op mode with two other people, but it affects the frames even more. Again, on my laptop, I always get 60 fps, even in co-op.
I can't remove mods from my modpack. This dont the best option, as it has almost no impact on the performance of the main PC, unless you remove half the mods.
Reducing the number of mobs in FTM also doesn't work for me.
My mod pack included mods that put even more strain on the system, like
Clear Glasses
Dynamic Reflections
etc.
But I removed them until I figure out what the problem is, because with them, I get 10-20 fps.
I'm asking for help or an explanation as to why there are such significant performance differences between my main PC and laptop. I am ready to provide additional information as questions arise.
