1.6 Update I installed SDV outside of PlayStore.

I downloaded the SDV apk from the internet for free, because I didn’t want to pay for it and I thought I just wanted to try for a bit. But I got addicted to it now, been playing multiple hours a day for a month.

If I decided to uninstall this apk, and install the legal one on PlayStore, would the save files stay? Or would I lose everything?

Has anyone tried this?

I don't know if you can access the save files, but if you can you could copy them and move them somewhere else.
Assuming this is a direct copy of the official mobile app you could probably use the same instructions as the wiki, but I don't know for sure.

Assuming it's just a bootlegged version of the game, it should operate just as normal and create the same proper save file locations.

Addressing the OP, with this in mind, you can just navigate to where your save files are located, copy and paste them somewhere else, then properly delete the bootleg/redownload the actual version. You can then transfer the files back into the proper save file location (you may need to make a new dummy save file if the folders aren't automatically created when you download the game).
