How do I get Iridium quality animal products?

Hello I’ve noticed some of the eggs I’ve gotten are Iridium quality but some of them aren’t I pet my chickens everyday, now I’m concerned since I plan on buying ducks once my coop finishes upgrading since I’m not sure what determines the quality of animal products.

You can check on your animal tab how many hearts each of your chickens has. If you're at five, you usually don't need to pet them every single day to keep them happy with you (I've gone as little as twice a week, but I also have Coopmaster, so that might be boosting friendship gains). Having all your chickens at five hearts is best, but it won't guarantee an iridium egg every single day. There will always be a chance for a lesser quality.

Keep in mind that the quality of chicken egg doesn't matter if you are turning it into mayo. Any star of large egg will still give you gold mayo. So if you don't want to pet your animals every day, you can work out a rough schedule of just doing it enough to keep them producing large eggs.

About mayonnaise:
Ducks, void chickens, and dinos only produce one quality mayonnaise, even if their eggs are higher quality.

And ostriches have the quality of the egg carry through to the mayonnaise. Only way of getting silver or iridium quality mayonnaise.

What should I do with the iridium eggs? I’ve been turning them into mayo

The mayonnaise still sells for more than iridium quality eggs. This holds true for all species, with one exception.

With dinosaur eggs you can triple their value by reading Treasure Appraisal Guide, which makes most of those eggs more valuable than the mayonnaise.
ohh ok

While regular eggs give you the most daily income; its time consuming; so other types of eggs can help with total time required to service the coops.

For top quality; you will need: auto-petter; auto-grabber; and heaters. Be sure to let your animals out and keep the door open all the time.

Auto-petter and auto-grabber aren't needed for top quality. But they do help reduce how much time you need to spend on tending the coop.

Heaters are needed in winter to keep the animals happy. Keeping their door open isn't needed in winter, since they never venture outside then. (I imgaine the animals happier in winter if the warmth isn't let out, but the game mechanics just look at whether or not there's a heater in the coop/barn)

Golden chickens too, technically iridium golden eggs with the rancher profession sell for a whopping 3g more than the 1197g you get from processing them into 3 golden mayo

By the time I get golden chickens, I don't want to spend the time processing their eggs and moreover, have absolutely zero use for the money, so I'm just cashing in the eggs straight. It's not like I have anything useful to spend the money on, anyway ....

As I've been abandoning my saves after reaching Perfection when I'm finally able to get gold chickens, I don't have any personal experience with them. Besides, I tend to go Tiller-Artisan, rather than Rancher-Coopmaster/Shepherd. But at that point of the game I don't know what to strive for, so...

Do you have any tips on the best artisan products? I’m on year 2

Preserves jars tend to be very affordable early on. They work great for vegetables and roe. Kegs for fruit are a lot of people's favorites. I've been doing a lot of mayo in recent saves, but my last save I spent a lot of time throwing random things in the dehydrator. Most artisan goods sell for better than their raw ingredients, so it's whatever is accessible to you at this point in the game. If you have a bunch of fish, smoking them might be the best option. If you have a lot of cows, making cheese might be a good path.

Kegs: Hops, wheat, the most expensive fruits/vegetables (base value, products not affected by quality) Wine takes a week to make, shorter time for other stuff.
Preserve jar: Fish roe, other fruits/vegetables, iridium quality mushrooms, for all but sturgeon roe it produces results in 2-3 days.
Smoker: The most expensive fishes you have, as it keeps the quality of the fish (the legendary fishes and those caught in the mines are better put in ponds to produce roe)
Dehydrator: Overnight results, best used on base and silver quality fruits/mushrooms.
Casks (once you have the 3rd house upgrade): Cheese and the highest value wines (starfruit, ancient fruit preferably). Gold quality cheese take a week to turn into iridium, while base quality cheese takes two weeks. Wine takes 2 seasons to go from base to iridium quality. Beer and pale ale aren't worth aging in my opinion.

Eggs and milk is best processed into mayonnaise and cheese. Wool, if you have rabbits or sheep, is best turned into cloth (iridium quality wool always produce 2 pieces of cloth, while gold and silver only do it sometimes)
