Xbox [HELP] Unable to play split screen on Xbox Series X

The two controls work, I can start the game with either of them, I start the cooperative game, there are more than two houses, I go to options, I click the button to start the cooperative game, and the message appears on the screen:
press start to join the game, press the other controller to join and it does nothing, press the button you press does nothing. There is no way....
I would like someone to confirm that it works in Series X

Hi! I'm having the same problem: we started a multiplayer game on split screen mode but there's no way to go past the "press start to join" button... in fact, both controllers are connected each with the respective colour differentiation (player 1 and 2) but we can control player 1 with both controllers rather than create a 2nd one.
Did you find a way around it? Thanks!
