PC [HELP] Tool I’m equipped with goes to lost and found when someone says my name and reverts back to standard tool.

When I started the game I used the naming cheat so that I could get money faster. My name is [163][166][434].
When I go up to someone and they say my name, whatever tool I am equipped with will end up in lost and found the next morning. The tool when collected has reverted back to the original in upgraded tool.
I have lost my golden pickaxe 3 times and my axe once so far.
Is this a bug? Or is it possible to change my name so it stops happening? It’s very inconvenient to reach a golden tool and have it revert back. I couldn’t imagine if it happened when I upgrade it to an iridium tool.

It is possible to change your name by editing the save file. You need to use a text editor, search for your name and then change it to what you would like. You need to this for both the save file and the savegameinfo file.

Or ingame, just get four hearts with the Wizard so he lets you in his basement, and use the Shrine of Illusions there to change your name.

OR if you are going into town to socialize (saloon, birthday, gifting etc) put your tools in a wooden chest. Then there is nothing to unequip to be placed in lost and found.
