Mobile [HELP] Never get a bite when I try fishing

I have tried fishing repeatedly, but I never even get a bite so I never even enter the fishing mini-game. I have the training rod and the bamboo rod, I've tried fishing at the sea, the rivers, off of piers and everything in between. I've waited a full hour in game time hoping to get a bite - but nothing. Is there something Im doing wrong? Is there something I need to learn from another character before being able to fish successfully? Thanks for your help

Which version are you playing? Please make sure you're on the latest build. This sounds like an old bug which was fixed.
